The link below is to the Grace to You website to the series "God's High Calling for Women" by Pastor John MacArthur. I think that having free resources like this is a tremendous blessing. I also have added this permanently to the sidebar at the right. This series was done in 1986 and it has been one of those life changing teachings in my life that I have continually come back to. It covers the passage in 1Timothy 2:9-15. It clearly teaches what God has called women to do in the Church-in their home-and in the world. It also teaches clearly what women are NOT called to do.
One thing I love about the ministry of John MacArthur is that he is clear and fearless in his teaching of God's Truth, even when it is a hot seat for him. As is his custom he hits the truth on the subject of a woman's role head on.
Please take advantage of this free series. We are living in perilous times-many Churches and ministries are confusing the clear Biblical distinction of gender roles in the Church and in the home. This is harming families and making weak men without the backbone to lead their families. The Prophet Isaiah reveals in Isaiah 3:12 that when women are taking dominating leadership roles over men -it is actually a judgment of God.
Ponder this sisters: What God has called women to do is a high and holy privilege, and we bring honor and glory to our God and His Word when we live out our call.

Thanks for the link, Victoria. There's certainly a lot of confusion in the world and in the church about the roles of men and women.
ReplyDeleteAmen Victoria! How freeing it is to obey God by following His design for us! I love MacArthur's messages on this subject!
ReplyDeleteBlessings sister!
Victoria,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this link. I need daily encouragement to swim against the current (that abounds all too often in the church, too) though I delight daily in my calling as a wife and mother. Blessings to you!
Victoria -- thank you for posting this link. I actually listened to this series not too long ago. When we truly go to the Bible and see how God has regarded and treated women from the OT to the NT -- and even reflect on the imagery used to describe the church (the bride of Christ) we see how the Lord has showered dignity and glory on the woman.
