What I deserve is this:
A life filled with chaos, distress, hatred, fear, self destruction, and a hopeless past present and future.
After living that life-I then deserve to die and go to Hell forever because of the sin I have committed against a Holy God.
What I have that I don't deserve is this:
Peace-given to me by The Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ.
Hope-oh yes there has been much grief and loss-but hope has never dimmed.
Joy-something none of us deserve.
Eternal Life-yes my best life is just ahead! In the presence of the Glory of the Trinity FOREVER!The reason I am not getting what I deserve is because of a gracious and somewhat mysterious thing that God did:
He sent His only begotten Son;
Who lived a perfect sinless life on this earth for about 33 years.
The Son of God was then offered up on the cross as a sin offering-His death was an atonement that satisfied the wrath of God for sinners like me-and you , Heb. 9:13-14
On the third day the Son of God rose bodily from the dead, guaranteeing our justification, Rom. 4:25The only way for you to get what you don't deserve is this-believe the Gospel. Please understand that only God Himself can open blind eyes to see their own sin and the need for a Savior. Only God can convict and convince and draw the soul to Christ.
Understand that you have indeed sinned against a Holy God and that your only hope for forgiveness and redemption and Eternal life is through the Sacrifice of Christ for your sins. You must repent of your sin(we don't just commit sin, we are sinful to the core from the womb)and believe the Gospel. Come to God in prayer-confess your sinful condition to Him and ask Him to forgive and to save you. Get yourself a Bible and read the Gospel of John and the book of Romans in the New Testament.
This is how the Bible sums up what the Gospel is:
1 Cor 15:3-6
3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received:
that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures,
4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures,
5 and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. 6 Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time...

Jesus said this:
John 6:35-44
35 Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. 36 But I said to you that you have seen me and yet do not believe.
37 All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.
38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me.
39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day.
40 For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day."
41 So the Jews grumbled about him, because he said, "I am the bread that came down from heaven."
42 They said, "Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How does he now say, 'I have come down from heaven'?"
43 Jesus answered them, "Do not grumble among yourselves.
44 No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day.

ReplyDeleteJohn 16:20 "Truly, truly, I say to you, that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; you will grieve, but your grief will be turned to joy. 22 "Therefore you too have grief now; but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.
