Please do yourself a favor and visit Tim Challies post about these two martyred missionaries. I have read the story before but Tim has done an excellent job-so please read part 1 here. Then read part 2 here.
May God grant us the courage to die for the Gospel-if and when we ever find ourselves in the same place as the Stams were that day so many years ago.
When the Preacher Gets Personal

Thank you for directing us over there Victoria. As new Christians we had the privilege of hosting monthly prayer meetings in our home for OMF (formerly China Inland Mission). The retired missionary woman who came each month had worked with the Stams in the same area - Her husband was killed in an accident in China leaving her there,a widow alone with 4 children. At the time the Communists were taking over and the stories she told of God's mighty hand of protection as the Communists went from village to village were simply amazing. He protected her and her children each time. So thankful Tim Challies has brought these blessed martyrs into the conscience of younger believers.
